Since Ladakh is a part of strategically important Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian military maintains a strong presence in the region. The largest town in Ladakh is Leh. It is one of the few remaining abodes of Buddhism in South Asia. Beautiful landscape of Ladakh makes it one of most popular places to visit. Ladakh is situated in the middle of multiple mountains. Ladakh is a land like no other. It is bounded by two of the world’s largest mountain ranges, the Great Himalaya and the Karakoram.
Day 1: Arrive – Leh
Our representative will recieve you at Airport. Upon arrival in Leh. Transfer by car to Hotel.
Day 2: Leh (local Sight seeing)
After breakfast visit to Sankar Gompa, located on a valley floor and is the home to Lamas who belong to yellow sect and worship his Holiness, The Dalai Lama. After that visit Shanti Stupa, a Buddhist religious monument built by Indian based Japanese Monk whose intention was to spread Buddhisim by building such stupas throughut the world. Visit Leh Palace, a nine storey high palce built in the 17th Century modelled on Potala Palce in Lhasa. overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: Leh-Khardong La- Nubra Valley-Leh (130 km)
After breakfast trip to Khardungla and the to Nubra Valley. Khardung La is a high mountain pass located in Ladakh region of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The pass on the Ladakh Range lies north of Leh and is the gateway to the Shyok and Nubra valleys. it is the world’s highest motorable pass with elevation of 5602 m. Nubra is a tri-armed valley located to the north east of Ladakh valley.
Day 4: Nubra Valley- Khardong La-Leh (130 km)
This day return to Leh by the same route
Day 5: Leh-Shey-Hemis-Thiksey- Pangong Lake (160 km)
After early breakfast full day visit to Shey, Thicksey and Hemis. Shey was the summer Palace of Ladakhi Kings and is where you can see the 36 Feet high statue of Buddha made of copper and covered with gold. Twelve storey monastery of Thicksey is situated in the most prominent of positions on an island Mountain. Hemis is the wealthiest Monastery in Ladakh. Drive to Pangong Tso (Pangong Lake). Overnight stay
Day 6: Pangong Lake-Leh (1600km)
This day you will visit Pangong Lake. After early breakfst depart for Pangong Lake over the Chang-la (5475 m). Arrive Pangong Lake, the highest lake in Ladakh and is flanked by massive peaks over 6500 m high.
Day 7: Leh- Departure Day
This day after breakfast drop off at the Airport to end the tour.
